Preeya does Work Experience at Wasafiri

Today I visited Wasafiri's offices in Camden and got to experience the atmosphere and an average day in their work lives. I met Nisha who focuses on editing the reviews in the magazine issue, Teresa who manages a lot of the meetings, the art section of the magazine and lots of other bits, Bobby who works with technology and media like the Wasafiri website and their Twitter and of course my aunt Sharmilla Beezmohun who manages editing mainly. I got to experience what they do on a day-to-day basis and did some tasks such as 'styling' text in the magazine- which was extremely challenging- rejecting pieces and choosing the best poetry and finally adding books and coding on the website on the page 'Books Received' in the submit section of the Wasafiri website. Despite it being a tiring day, it really was worthwhile as I have gained so much knowledge about workplaces and about publishing and had a lot of fun. Preeya Year Seven The Broxbourne School
