2024 Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize Ceremony
We're pleased to announce that the Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize ceremony is returning to the Southbank Centre after 15 years. The inaugural ceremony took place at this iconic venue in 2009, and we are delighted to be partnering with the Southbank Centre once again, and returning this October – on the opening night of London Literature Festival – to celebrate our 2024 prizewinners in fiction, life writing, and poetry.
Join us for an evening of readings by writers from the Wasafiri community – Hannah Silva, Yomi Ṣode, and Isabel Waidner – which will culminate with the 2024 winners announcement and prize-giving by the stellar judging panel, Chair Margaret Busby, Cristina Rivera Garza, Meena Kandasamy, and Isabel Waidner.
The event is part of the Southbank Centre's London Literature Festival.
Copies of Wasafiri's 40th anniversary issue, Wasafiri 119: Futurisms – which you can now order – will also be available for sale.
When: 7pm, Wednesday, 23 October, 2024
Where: Foyle Pavilion, Southbank Centre, London
Tickets: Full price tickets from £10. A limited number of concession tickets are available.
