Wasafiri x English: Shared Futures

For four decades, Wasafiri has platformed the voices of multilingual writers, and writing that traverses and transcends linguistic and geographical boundaries.

As part of the English: Shared Futures conference this year, we are seeking 20-minute papers, position pieces, and practice-led contributions championing diverse, plural, and often overlooked voices and perspectives. Our aim is to celebrate the art, craft, praxis, and labour of translation and the new perspectives and futures it makes possible.

Chaired by Wasafiri Associate Editor Dr Maya Caspari.

English: Shared Futures is the UK’s largest conference in English Studies. The 2025 edition takes places 3-5 July in York, UK.

Please send proposals to proposals@englishsharedfutures.org not later than noon on Tuesday 20 May. We aim to review all proposals by Tuesday 27 May to allow panelists time to register for English: Shared Futures and book travel and accommodation.
