Online Workshops with Writer-in-Residence 2023/24 – Reece Williams
Wasafiri is pleased to announce two online poetry workshops tutored by our 2023/24 Writer-in-Residence, Reece Williams, taking place this spring.
These workshops will focus on explorations of home and experiments with form in poetry, offering participants the opportunity to work on their own poems during the workshops, as well as develop to their voice as a performer of poetry.
The workshops are open to writers at all levels everywhere, and particularly to those from under-represented backgrounds. Workshop places can be purchased as a pair, or separately, with a variety of ticket options available, including concessions and a limited number of subsidised places. To purchase a ticket for both workshops please select one workshop pass in either of the workshops. Optional preliminary reading will be sent to participants before the workshops.
I’m absolutely delighted to have been appointed as Writer-in-Residence at Wasafiri. I have been a secret admirer of the magazine for some time and have always been inspired by its passion to shine a brighter lens on writers from African, Asian, Caribbean, and Black British backgrounds. I’m excited to work alongside the team to devise and deliver a range of exciting workshops which centre Black Mancunian voices and experiences as well as penning an article which shares insight on the communities that I am proud to belong to.
