Bernardine Evaristo is the author of ten books among which are Girl, Woman, Other (2019), Lara (1997), and the Emperor's Babe (2001). She won the Booker prize in 2019 and the Women’s Prize Outstanding Contribution Award in 2025, as well as many other prizes over the years (over 80 in total).
