Olufemi Terry
A Sierra Leone–born writer and essayist, Olufemi Terry is the author of Wilderness of Mirrors (2026). Educated in Yorkshire, United Kingdom, and in New York, his short fiction has appeared in Guernica, The Georgia Review, Chimurenga, and The Granta Book of the African Short Story, and has been translated into French and German.
His non-fiction essays have been published in The American Scholar, Africa Is a Country, and The Guardian. He has served as International Writer-in-Residence at Cove Park in Scotland and as Writer-in-Residence at Georgetown University’s Lannan Center for Poetics & Social Practice in Washington, DC. In 2019, he received a Washington DC Arts & Humanities Grant. A former juror for both the Miles Morland Foundation Scholarship and the AKO Caine Prize for African Writing, he won the Caine Prize in 2010 for ‘Stickfighting Days’. He divides his time between Germany and Côte d’Ivoire.
