Suji Kwock Kim

Suji Kwock Kim is author of Notes from the Divided Country, Notes from the Northand Disorient (forthcoming, Chatto & Windus/ Penguin Random House UK), as well as several collaborations with composers Mayako Kubo and Jérôme Blais for the Tokyo Philharmonic Chorus at Pablo Casals Hall, Tokyo; Chorusorganisation, Koreanische Frauengruppe, Japanische Fraueninitiative in Berlin; Das Berliner Frauen-Vokalensemble in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Potsdam, Bielefeld, and Petzow, Germany; the Dalhousie Orchestra in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; and the Solera Quartet at the Art Institute of Chicago. She’s a 2026-2027 Guggenheim Fellow, a 2026-2027 Creative Capital Fellow, and serves as a Trustee for the UK Charity Commission and CNK, formerly the European Alliance for Human Rights in North Korea, based in New Malden, Surrey, home to the largest community of North Korean refugees outside Asia.
